Is there any prerequisite for using the services?

You can sign in China Construction Bank (Asia) Online Commercial Banking immediately if you have the following:

A computer with a screen resolution of 1024x768 or above and Internet access
Best viewed with: Microsoft Internet Explorer 8, 9, 10 or 11; Firefox 32; Chrome 38; Safari 5
A commercial banking account opened in any of the Branches of China Construction Bank (Asia) and has signed up for the service.

How can I sign up for the services?

First, you will need a China Construction Bank (Asia) commercial banking account. If you currently do not have a China Construction Bank (Asia) account, you can open an account and sign up for the service by visiting any of our Branches.

When can I start using the services?

Once you sign up for the service, you will receive Username and Password from the Bank. After we have received your acknowledgement receipt of the Username and Password, your account will be activated immediately and you can start enjoying the convenience of the service.

How can I ensure only authorized transaction will be executed by the Bank?

To ensure only authorized transaction will be executed by the Bank, you can assign up maximum 3 levels (minimum 2 levels) of authorities for each of your Online Commercial Banking Username.

"Create" - User with "Create" authority can create, edit, view his own transaction. Transaction created must be further approved.
"Review" - User with "Review" authority can view and accept transactions created by all users. Transaction must be further approved before execution.
"Approve" - Only user with "Approve" authority can approve transactions for execution.

You can also choose to have two levels of user authority with "Create" and "Review & Approve".

How can I empower my Online Commercial Banking to have funds transfer?

You must first sign up for this new function by visiting any of our Branches. In addition, you must also apply Security Token through your account manager in order to use this function.

How can I transfer money to my CCB (Asia) account from different channels?


You can transfer money to your CCB (Asia) account via different channels such as Clearing House Automated Transfer System (“CHATS”), eCheque or WeChat. You might be requested to provide CCB (Asia) Bank Code, Branch Code* and Account Number in the following format.


CCB (Asia) Bank Code is “009” (if required to be input)
Account Branch Code is 3 digits
Account Number is either 7 or 8 digits

For doing transfer via eCheque or WeChat, if the account branch code is 631 and account number is 7 digits (e.g. 9876543), you may input 6319876543 or if the account number is 8 digits (e.g. 10987654), you may input 63110987654.
For doing transfer via CHATS, you may need to input the account branch code and account number separately.
*You may refer to the bank statement for the account branch code

You are advised to take precautions against hackers, viruses, spyware or any other suspicious software when doing transaction(s) at a third party platform. Do not browse suspicious websites or click on the hyperlinks and attachments in suspicious emails or messages received through the e-communities such as WeChat.

How to make funds transfer?

You must use a Username with "Create" authority to login to Online Commercial Banking, access to Funds Transfer function with Security Code Authentication. Then, you can start to create Funds Transfer transaction. In order for such transaction to be executed by the Bank, it must be approved and finally released by user with the respective authority.

Why my FX transaction is rejected and with a message of ˜The Transaction Amount exceeds the exchange limit set by the Bank?

Your FX transaction is rejected due to your cumulative RMB transaction amount exceeded the exchange limit set by the Bank for non office hours as defined by the Bank. Currently, our Bank's cumulative RMB exchange limit during non-office hour is RMB100,000 and this may be changed by the Bank from time to time.

eStatement/eAdvice service allows Authorized Users who are assigned to such right to view or download statement/advice online through Online Commercial Banking.

What is eAlert?

eAlert is one of the electronic banking services. Setting up the eAlert services via our Online Banking, up to three recipients will be notified of any banking matters through email and/or Short Messaging Service(SMS).

During the promotional period, customers can enjoy free eAlert services. If a service fee is required for particular types of eAlert in the future, the Bank will notify customers accordingly.

How can I check up-to-date information online?

In the 'Inbox', there are 4 function keys, namely 'Incoming Correspondence', 'Pending for Approval', 'Payment and Acceptance' and 'Transaction in Process'.

Incoming Correspondence You can check all messages that the Bank sent to Users.
Pending For Approval Approvers will receive approval request and approve the transactions.
Payment and Acceptance Approvers can accept or reject the payment.
Transaction in Process You can continue preparing the application that you have saved last time.

If I cannot complete the application in one go, but I do want to continue next time, what can I do?

At the bottom of the page, click the 'Save' button, the information will be automatically stored. Without authorized user's approval, the application will never be submitted. When Maker continues typing the application next time, just simply click 'Transactions in Process' under 'Inbox'; incomplete applications are open to be amended and submitted for approval.

Why cannot I see the application in 'Pending for Approval' under Inbox?

Every user will be delegated different roles and levels of authority. For the transaction amount is beyond your authorized transaction limit, the transaction cannot be viewed. Users can check the authorized limit from Master user who assigns the transaction limits to them.

Therefore, 'Pending for Approval' will only display the transactions that you are eligible to approve. Approver is able to amend the transaction details, but the authorized user(s) should sign once again.

What if we want to add one more authorized signatory for the Online Trade Finance Services, what should we do?

To enjoy the Online Trade Finance Services, users MUST be an Authorized User of Online Commercial Banking. If the new user is not yet an Authorized User of Online Commercial Banking, please apply one by filling in the following form(s):

  1. Additional Authorized User(s) / User ID(s) and Password(s)
  2. Application for Online Trade Finance Services (For Company, Corporation, Society, Association, Club and Partnership), or
  3. Application for Online Trade Finance Services (For Sole Proprietor)

If the new user is an existing Authorized User of Online Commercial Banking, you can simply fill in the following form for the application.

How do I know the application status after submission?

You can check your application process in 'Transaction Status' under 'Inquiry'. Either one of the following statuses will be shown:

Status Status Description
IN PROCESS Application is drafted but not yet submitted.
SIGN REQUIRED Application is pending for approval.
WAIT FOR TRANS Application is submitted and pending for transmission to the Bank.
TRANSMITTED Application is transmitting to the Bank.
RECEIVED Application is received by the Bank.
RELEASED Letter of Credit is issued by the Bank.
REJECTED The Bank has rejected the application.

What is template? How can it facilitate my application?

Template is a model page filled with information that customer would frequently use, such as applicant's details, beneficiary's details, clauses, terms and conditions. Templates will facilitate the construction of Letter of Credit application form with terms and conditions very similar to previous transactions, saving user input effort and avoiding typing mistakes.

What does authorization means in Online Trade Finance Services?

Authorization in Online Trade Finance Services allows users (Makers, Approvers and Master User) to operate the online trade platform. Master user can delegate different staff to have different levels of access rights to your accounts.

How many types of users are there in Online Trade Finance Services?

There are three types of users, namely Master User, Approver(s) and Maker(s). Our Online Banking Customer Service Officers will assist you in the set up. (For more information, please email to Onlinecommercialbanking@asia.ccb.com).

User Type User Type Description
Master User

There is only ONE Master User in Online Trade Finance Services, who has the authority to assign the roles; to set access rights and transaction limits of Maker(s) and Approver(s). Besides, Master User is also able to view, to create and to authorize transactions through the Online Trade Finance Services.

Master User can also modify Maker(s) and Approver(s) and amend details such as contact information of users via the online platform.

Approver(s) Approvers are able to view and to authorize transactions after the Maker(s) prepared the Application for Letter of Credit / Standby Letter of Credit or Application for Import Invoice Financing online, depending on the access rights and permissions assigned to him/her.
Maker(s) Makers are able to view and prepare Application for Letter of Credit / Standby Letter of Credit or Application for Import Invoice Financing through the Online Trade Finance Services. Makers have no limit and are not able to authorize transactions.

How are transaction limits determined?

Master user is able to set the signing arrangement and transaction limit per product. Within the restricted transaction limit, designated signature group(s) is/are allowed to approve the transactions.

Can limits be changed online?

Yes. Master User can change the transaction limits for each product online.

What are signature groups?

There are three signature groupsGroup A, Group B and Group C. Master User can assign each approver into group. Each group possesses different level of signing authority.

For example, Application for Import Invoice Financing for an amount of HKD1,000,000.00 required one signer from Group A and one signer from Group B; for an amount of HKD2,000,000.00 required two signers from Group A and one signer from Group C.

What is signature level? How can we set it up?

Signature level indicates the numbers of signatures from each group required to authorize for a transaction. Master User can decide approvers' signature level to approve different transactions.

For example, if a company adopts two-to-sign preference, they can set up signature level such as one signer from Group A and one signer from Group B to approve HKD1,000,000.00 transactions; and if the company sets up one signature for all transactions, they can allow one person to be the "Master User", "Maker" and "Approver" at the same time to create and to approve deals.

However, due to the online security reason, the two-to-sign preference is highly recommended.

Can we change the signature level when there is pending transaction(s) for approval process?

Yes, Master User can change the signature level themselves, given that there is no transaction pending for approval.

User with "Create" authority in Time Deposit Services can access to the Time Deposit section after login to Online Commercial Banking with Security Code Authentication completed, user with "Create" authority can then create a Time Deposit instruction in the "Deposit Placement" function.

Please note that Time Deposit instruction must be reviewed and approved by relevant user(s) in order to be executed by the Bank.

What types of time deposit I can do via Online Commercial Banking?

There is a choice of 12 foreign currencies including HKD, USD, GBP, CAD, AUD, NZD, JPY, CHF, EUR, SGD, RMB, and ZAR.

No currency exchange is allowed for RMB time deposit. Please ensure you have enough deposit amounts in RMB account before submitting application online.

What should I do if I do not get a response after clicking on a hyperlink or icon?

Sometimes, the Internet becomes unavoidably slow to respond. If there is a delay, please wait. Avoid clicking repeatedly on a particular link. Alternatively, you may Refresh the screen and try again.

Will the system sign off when it reaches the time-out limit?

As long as there is activity, you will not be logged out. One of our security features is that you will be automatically signed off after 10 minutes of inactivity, to prevent unauthorized viewing of your account.

What is the strength of encryption on Online Commercial Banking site?

The effectiveness for encryption is measured in terms of how long the key is -- the longer the key, the longer it would take for unauthorized person to break the code. This is measured in bits, a 40-bit encryption which is the level of encryption used with many ordinary browsers, has 2^40 possible different combinations, versus a 128-bit encryption which is the level of encryption required to use China Construction Bank (Asia) Online Commercial Banking and has 2^128 possible different combinations. Hence, encryption offers our customers strengthened security.

What steps should I take to make web banking as secure as possible?

While China Construction Bank (Asia) works to protect your banking privacy, you also play a role in protecting your accounts. There are a number of steps you can take to ensure that your banking experience on the Internet is safe and secure.


Six ways to protect yourself

  1. First and foremost, don't reveal your online Username or Password to anyone else. Your Username and Password are designed to protect the privacy of your banking information, but it will only work if you keep it to yourself. If you think your online Password has been compromised, change it immediately online.
  2. For security reason, you are advised not to use your China Construction Bank (Asia) Online Commercial Banking Username & Password for any other internet banking accounts, on-line memberships or internet services.
  3. Don't walk away from your computer if you are in the middle of a session.
  4. Once you have finished conducting your banking on the Internet, always sign off before visiting other Internet sites.
  5. If anyone else is likely to use your computer, clear your cache or turn off and re-initiate your browser in order to eliminate copies of web pages that have been stored in your hard drive. How you clear your cache will depend on the browser and version you have. This function is generally found in your preference menu.
  6. Change your password regularly.
China Construction Bank (Asia) strongly recommends that you use a browser with 128-bit encryption to conduct secure financial transactions over the Internet.

What is a Security Token?


Security Token is an electronic device that generates a 6-digit Security Code. Each Security Token bears a unique serial number at its back. We have recently introduced a new generation of Security Token to enhance the security of Online Banking Services. Please refer to Security Token (2nd Generation) user's guide for details.

What is a Security Code?

A 6-digit Security Code will be displayed on the screen of the Security Token for your input to the screen of Online Banking platform.

1st Generation Security Token
The Security Code will be kept on changing in every 30 seconds.
2nd Generation Security Token
To generate a Security Code on your Security Token, simply press and hold theand followed by. The Security Code will be kept on changing in every 60 seconds.

What is a Serial Number?

Serial Number is a unique number on the back of the Security Token that is linked to your Online Banking profile personally. This set of unique number can help identify your individual Security Token.

1st Generation Security Token
Serial Number is a 9-digit number printed at the back of the token.
2nd Generation Security Token
Serial Number is a 13-digit number printed at the back of the Security Token.

How to apply for a Security Token?

For Personal Banking customer: Please visit our bank website and download the Service Application / Maintenance Form (F553H) and return the signed and completed form to any of our branches in person.

For Commercial Banking customer: Upon receipt of your application for the specific Online Banking service that required the use of Security Token, the Bank will mail a Security Token to you automatically.

When to use Security Token?

When you are conducting designated Online Banking services, you would be prompted to enter a Security Code for verification. If the Security Code is correct, your transaction can be authenticated successfully.

What should I do after receiving a Security Token?

Upon receipt of the new Security Token, you are required to activate it immediately.

If you receive a new Security Token for replacement, once activated the new Security Token, the existing Security Token will be deactivated automatically. You may discard the deactivated Security Token yourself or consider returning it to any branches convenient to you. The Security Token will be collected and destroyed in a safely way.

How to activate a Security Token? Can I use it immediately after activation?

Please follow the steps below to activate your new Security Token:

1. Log on to Online banking with your Username and Password;
2. Select “Activate my Security Token” on “Maintain my details” under “My Home”;
3. Input the required information on the screen for verification.


An activation confirmation will be displayed and you can use your Security Token right away. Please refer to Security Token (2nd Generation) user's guide for details.

How to turn on a 2nd Generation Security Token?

Please follow the following steps to turn on your Security Token:

1. Press and hold the red button for 2 seconds until the “ – ” signal display on the screen;
2. Press the green “OK” button ;
3. A 6-digit Security Code will be displayed on the screen and the Security Token is ready for use.

As I just needed to input Security Code for transaction signing in the past. Why am I being requested to input both the Security Code and Serial Number now?


Since a new Security Token has already been mailed to you for replacement, you will be asked for inputting also the Serial Number if you continue using your existing Security Token for transaction signing. Please note: Your existing Security Token will be deactivated once you activated your new Security Token, or 60 days after the new Security Token issuance. Please activate your new Security Token as soon as possible.

I have input the Security Code into online banking, but it cannot be verified. What happened?

This may happen if you have entered an invalid Security Code. Please check the Security Code displayed on your Security Token and re-try for a valid Security Code to continue the verification. If you continue entering a wrong security code for 10 times, your Security Token will be locked automatically.

What should I do if my Security Token is locked?

For Personal Banking customer: Online Banking will lock your Security Token automatically to protect your accounts from being tampered with if there is a continual input of a wrong Security Code. To unlock the Security Token, please visit our bank website to download the Service Application / Maintenance Form (F553H) and return the signed and completed form to any of our branches in person.

I have encountered an error message asking me to enter the next Security Code displayed following the one I have just entered. Why do I need to enter the Security Code for 2 times?

This error message occurs when you have entered wrong Security Code for several times before you finally enter a correct one. You will be prompted to enter the consecutive correct Security Code for verification in this case.

Why the Security Code displayed on the Security Token screen has disappeared after a while?


As a security measure for Security Token (2nd Generation), there is limited display time for each Security Code to display on the screen. If the Security Code disappears, simply turn on the Security Token again to generate a new Security Code.

Is the Security Token free-of-charge?

Yes, you can enjoy the Security Token service for free. However, if the Security Token is lost or broken, a replacement fee will be charged. For details, please refer to our Schedule of Service Fees.

Can I use the Security Token when I am aboard?

Yes, you can bring your Security Token along with you when traveling overseas and get access to our Online Banking services freely.

Will the Security Token expire?

Yes, every Security Token has up to 4 years battery lifetime depending on the frequency of the usage. A new Security Token will be automatically sent to you for replacement before the battery runs out. No replacement fee will be charged..

If the battery of your Security Token has run out of battery before the replacement, you can bring it to any of our branches and apply for a new Security Token for free.

What should I do if my Security Tokenor is lost or damage ?

For Personal Banking customer: If your Security Token has been lost or damaged, you may apply for a new one by download the Service Application / Maintenance Form (F553H) and return the signed and completed form to any of our branches in person. A replacement fee will be charged for lost or damaged Security Token replacement. For details, please refer to our Schedule of Service Fees.

Which address does the Security Token post to? How can I update my mailing address?

Your Security Token will be posted to the correspondence address that you have registered with us.

For Personal Banking customer: If you have any updates on the address, please visit our bank website and download the ‘Change of Address and / or Customer Information Request Form’ (F642)and return the signed and completed form to any of our branches in person.
