What are the services available?

Currently you can:

    Account Services

    • Check current balances on your checking, savings, multi-currency savings, time deposit, loan.

      • Transaction records since the first day of current month for Passbook Savings.
      • Transaction records since last statement day for any account except Passbook Savings.
    • View Bill Statement.
    • Conduct funds transfer# (requires e-Cert)
      • Transfer funds between your company's accounts at the Bank.
      • Transfer funds to a registered third party accounts at the Bank.
      • Transfer funds to accounts maintained outside Hong Kong (either under your own name or third party) with China Construction Bank (Asia) or other banks

Online Commercial Banking gives you immediate access to your accounts. View account balance and make online requests all free of charge!


Are the services available 24 hours ?

Yes. You can have access to Online Commercial Banking anytime, any day of the week. It is 24 hours on the service for you. However, foreign currency can only be processed from 10:00am to 6:00pm during Monday to Friday and 10:00am to 1:00pm on Saturday (except Public Holidays).


Can I access China Construction Bank (Asia) Online Commercial Banking from overseas ?

Just enter www.asia.ccb.com, select Hong Kong and then and you can access your finances anywhere, anytime, all at your fingertip.

Is there any prerequisite for using the services?

You can sign in China Construction Bank (Asia) Online Commercial Banking immediately if you have the following:
  • A computer, a modem, Internet access and a supported browser of Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5 or above.
  • A commercial banking account opened in any of the Branches of China Construction Bank (Asia) and has signed up for the service.
  • If you want to perform fund transfer, you must apply an e-Cert at Hongkong Post Offices or our Bank.


How can I sign up for the services?

First, you will need a China Construction Bank (Asia) commercial banking account. If you currently do not have a China Construction Bank (Asia) account, you can open an account and sign up for the service by visiting any of our Branches.

When can I start using the services ?

Once you sign up for the service, you will receive Customer ID and Password from the Bank. After we have received your acknowledgement receipt of the Customer ID and Password, your account will be activated immediately and you can start enjoying the convenience of the service.



What is the difference between using "General Sign in" and "e-Cert Sign in" for Online Commercial Banking?

For using "General Sign in" method, customers can only make enquiry of accounts maintained at China Construction Bank (Asia). For using "e-Cert Sign in" method, customers can make enquiry and perform funds transfer online.

How can I ensure only authorized transaction will be executed by the Bank?

To ensure only authorized transaction will be executed by the Bank, you can assign up maximum 3 levels (minimum 2 levels) of authorities for each of your Online Commercial Banking Customer ID.
  • "Create" - User with "Create" authority can create, edit, view his own transaction. Transaction created must be further approved.
  • "Review" - User with "Review" authority can view and accept transactions created by all users. Transaction must be further approved before execution.
  • "Approve" - Only user with "Approve" authority can approve transactions for execution.
You can also choose to have two levels of user authority with "Create" and "Review & Approve".


How can I empower my Online Commercial Banking to have funds transfer?

You must first sign up for this new function by visiting any of our Branches. In addition, you must also apply an e-Cert of Hongkong Post in order to use this function.

How to make funds transfer?

You must use a Customer ID with "Create" authority and choose "e-Cert Sign in". Then, you can start to create fund transfer transaction. In order for such transaction to be executed by the Bank, it must be approved and finally released by user with the respective authority.


What is the maximum daily amount my company can transfer via Online Commercial Banking?

You can check out the approval status of your fund transfer transaction from the "Search" functions under Account Transfer section.

How do I print in Online Commercial Banking ?

Under normal circumstances, you can select printing from the browser toolbar, either by clicking on the printer icon or select File, Print to proceed.

What if I forget my Password?

If you forget your Password, you should call customer service hotline at (852) 2805- 2383 during operating hours for assistance or visit any of our Branches for assistance.

What should I do if I do not get a response after clicking on a hyperlink or icon?

Sometimes, the Internet becomes unavoidably slow to respond. If there is a delay, please wait. Avoid clicking repeatedly on a particular link. Alternatively, you may Refresh the screen and try again.

Will the system sign off when it reaches the time-out limit?

As long as there is activity, you will not be logged out. One of our security features is that you will be automatically signed off after 10 minutes of inactivity, to prevent unauthorized viewing of your account.

Why is the access to Online Commercial Banking slower at times ?

It all depends on the net traffic at the time of access. When there is heavy traffic, access will be slow as large amount of users are competing for a limited capacity on the Internet highway.

What is Encryption/ Cryptography?

Cryptography creates a secure environment for the information being transferred between your browser and China Construction Bank (Asia) Put simply, secure data such as your customer ID and Password are scrambled in our encryption/cryptography process and will not be easily seen by unauthorized persons.


What does SSL mean?

SSL stands for "Secure Socket Layer." This technology allows users to establish sessions with Internet sites which are secure, and have minimal risk of external violation. Once inside the China Construction Bank (Asia) Online Commercial Banking site, you are secure through our use of SSL technology.

What is cache? Why should I clear it?

Cache is the process your browser uses to store pages on your hard disk as you view them. This enables quick access to often-used pages. Please periodically clear your cache memory in your browser. Use your browser Help option to find out how to clear your cache.


What is the strength of encryption on Online Commercial Banking site?

The effectiveness for encryption is measured in terms of how long the key is -- the longer the key, the longer it would take for unauthorized person to break the code. This is measured in bits, a 40-bit encryption which is the level of encryption used with many ordinary browsers, has 2^40 possible different combinations, versus a 128-bit encryption which is the level of encryption required to use China Construction Bank (Asia) Online Commercial Banking and has 2^128 possible different combinations. Hence, encryption offers our customers strengthened security.

  • e-Cert
    e-Cert of Hongkong Post will be required for funds transfer online.

  • Customer ID and Password
    Only your valid customer ID and Password will allow you to sign in.

  • 3 Levels of User Authority
    Up to 3 levels of user authority can be set for each customer ID.

  • Automatic Sign-off
    If no action is taken for 10 minutes, your session with China Construction Bank (Asia) Online Commercial Banking will be automatically terminated and you will be signed off.

  • Security Upgrade

What is e-Cert?

e-Cert is an electronic file issued and digitally signed by a Certification Authority, vouching for the identity of the certificate holder. We currently accept e-Cert (Personal / Organizational) issued by the Hong Kong Post.


How can I apply for the e-Cert?

You can simply apply it through Hongkong Post Offices.


What should I do after receiving the e-Cert?

After receiving the e-Cert, you must import it into Microsoft Internet Explorer according to user guide posted by Hong Kong Post.


What are the charges for applying the e-Cert?

There will be subscription fee charged by Hongkong Post for e-Cert subscription. Please refer to Hong Kong Post. for details.

Do I need to apply individual e-Cert for each user?

Depends on the transaction type performed by each user. If the user will perform funds transfer online, an e-Cert will be required. However, for general account enquiry function, e-Cert is not required.


What should I do if I forget the e-Cert password?

Please contact Hong Kong Post service hotline at 2921 6633.

What should I do if my e-Cert is deleted / corrupted?

If you have a back up copy of your e-Cert, you can import this copy into your web browser. Otherwise, you need to revoke your e-Cert by contacting Hong Kong Post and apply for another e-Cert.


What should I do if my computer has been stolen together with my e-Cert?

e-Cert is protected by a password, it is unlikely that anyone else will be able to use it to impersonate you. However, we strongly advise you to revoke your certificate immediately if your computer has been stolen and then enroll for a new one.

How can I tell if my browser is secure?

Our site is optimized for best viewing with Netscape Communicator 6.0 or above and Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0x version.

Our suggested platforms are Macintosh OS 9.1 or above, Windows 98, Windows 95, and Windows 3.1. Our site works best when viewed with a modem speed of 28.8 or higher.

Our customers are assured that they are dealing with China Construction Bank (Asia) using Netscape security that provides a certificate at the beginning of the session. In the bottom of the browser window, there will be an icon that tells you if the page has been encrypted. Don't type your password on a page that isn't encrypted.

What steps should I take to make web banking as secure as possible?

You play a role in security
While China Construction Bank (Asia) works to protect your banking privacy, you also play a role in protecting your accounts. There are a number of steps you can take to ensure that your banking experience on the Internet is safe and secure.

Six ways to protect yourself

  1. First and foremost, don't reveal your online customer ID or Password to anyone else. Your customer ID and Password are designed to protect the privacy of your banking information, but it will only work if you keep it to yourself. If you think your online Password has been compromised, change it immediately online.

  2. For security reason, you are advised not to use your China Construction Bank (Asia) Online Commercial Banking Customer ID & Password for any other internet banking accounts, on-line memberships or internet services.

  3. Don't walk away from your computer if you are in the middle of a session.

  4. Once you have finished conducting your banking on the Internet, always sign off before visiting other Internet sites.

  5. If anyone else is likely to use your computer, clear your cache or turn off and re-initiate your browser in order to eliminate copies of web pages that have been stored in your hard drive. How you clear your cache will depend on the browser and version you have. This function is generally found in your preference menu.

  6. Change your password regularly.
