FPS Bill Payment

  1. All payments and fund transfers made or to be made through the Faster Payment System ("FPS") shall be subject to, among others, the Terms and Conditions for Bank Services relating to Faster Payment System (the "T&Cs").
  2. FPS may facilitate local payments and fund transfers in any currency specified by the Bank from time to time, including Hong Kong dollars and Renminbi.
  3. Customers shall maintain sufficient funds in the relevant debit account for settling each of their payment and fund transfer instructions.
  4. Any service charge (if applicable) shall be debited from the relevant debit account. Customers shall ensure that all information (including the account number, the identifier or related record) you used are correct, complete and up-to-date.
  5. The Bank shall not be held liable for loss of any kind which the customer or any other person may incur or suffer for any delay, unavailability, disruption, failure, error of or caused by FPS or other third parties, or arising from any circumstances beyond our reasonable control. >
  6. Unless and until the contrary is established, the Bank’s records shall be conclusive and binding on the Customers.
  7. The Bank has the right to set or vary from time to time the scope of the Bank Services (as defined in the T&Cs) and the conditions and procedures for using the Bank Services (as defined in the T&Cs).

Bill Payment through EPS or e-Bill

Customers may choose to process their payment and fund transfer instructions through "EPS Bill Payment" or "eBill Payment"

  1. "EPS Bill Payment" is jointly operated by the Bank and EPSCO. "EPSCO" means EPS Company (Hong Kong) Limited. A list of "EPS Merchants" can be found here.
  2. "EPS Bill Payment" supports payments and fund transfers in Hong Kong dollars to the EPS Merchants, while "eBill Payment" supports payments and fund transfers in Hong Kong dollars, Renminbi and US dollars to e-Bill Merchants.
  3. Customers’ use of the Bill Payment function may be subject to, other than the agreements entered into between such customers and the Bank, certain other terms and conditions provided by third-party service providers (e.g. EPSCO). Customers acknowledge and accept that EPSCO or such other third-party service providers (if applicable) may vary such terms and conditions from time to time, among others, the merchant types or the bill types to be covered under the Bill Payment function.
  4. Customers shall maintain sufficient funds in the relevant debit account for each of their settling payment and fund transfer instructions. If customers choose to schedule a payment and fund transfer instruction on a specific payment date, please ensure that there are sufficient funds in the relevant debit account at least one business day before the scheduled payment date.
  5. All payment and fund transfer instructions submitted by the customers after the respective cut-off times (for "EPS Bill Payment": 4:00 pm and for "eBill Payment": 12:00 pm on Monday to Friday or submitted during Saturday, Sunday and public holiday) will not be processed until the next business day.
  6. Any service charge (if applicable) shall be debited from the relevant debit account.
  7. The aggregate daily maximum limit for "EPS Bill Payment" and "eBill Payment" is HKD500,000 or its equivalent (if applicable). The daily maximum limit for income tax payment under "EPS Bill Payment" is HKD 3,000,000 .
  8. To register for the bills of "Banking and Credit Card Services", "Credit Services", please obtain the relevant application form from our customer service representatives, complete it with your signature and return it to any of our branches for further processing.   9. The Bank shall not be held liable for loss of any kind which the customer or any other person may incur or suffer for any delay, unavailability, disruption, error of or caused by EPSCO or other third-party service providers, or arising from any circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
  10. Unless and until the contrary is established, the Bank’s records shall be conclusive and binding on the Customers.
  11. The Bank has the right to set or vary from time to time the scope of the Bill Payment function and the conditions and procedures for using the Bill Payment function.
