What is Money Safe?

Money Safe is the latest anti-fraud and scam measure introduced by the
Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA).

It provides an extra security for your bank deposits. You can lock the fund under Money Safe. The funds subject to Money Safe will be restricted from fund outflows via any transaction types and channels, including cash withdrawal, FPS, local and cross-border transfers, etc., lower the risk of scammers instantly transferring funds outs of the accounts.

With Money Safe, you can lock part of your idle funds. Once locked, the funds subject to Money Safe are restricted from fund outflows (including cash withdrawal, local and cross border transfers, etc.), helping to lower the risk of financial loss triggered by scams or unauthorized transactions.
Coverage for different accounts
Money Safe is available for Hong Kong Dollar and other currencies provided by the Bank for savings accounts, checking accounts and time deposit accounts. Locked fund could still enjoy interest (if applicable).

  • You can activate or increase the funds subject to Money Safe via online banking, mobile banking or visit branch in person.
  • Providing extra protection as you must visit the branch for verification in person to unlock or reduce the Money Safe amount.

  2. Money Safe is applicable to savings accounts, checking accounts and time deposit accounts, in HKD and other currencies provided by the Bank. Terms & Conditions
Money Safe Cash Reward Promotion (“The Promotion”) Terms and Conditions
  1. The Promotion is only applicable to personal customers (the “Eligible Customer”), but not applicable to staff of the Bank and the Bank’s affiliates, corporate customers and Capital Investment Entrant Scheme customers of China Construction Bank (Asia) Corporation Limited (the “Bank”).
  2. In case of a joint name account, only the primary account holder is entitled to the offer and become an Eligible Customer.
  3. Eligible Customers are bound by the “Important Notes & Terms and Conditions for Money Safe. In the event of any inconsistency between these Terms and Conditions and the relevant terms and conditions for the banking products and service, these Terms and Conditions shall prevail.
  4. The offer under this Promotion cannot be used in conjunction with any other promotions.
  5. The Bank reserves the right to vary, suspend and terminate the Promotion and to vary or modify any of these Terms and Conditions from time to time. In case of dispute, the decision of the Bank shall be final and binding.
  6. In case of any inconsistency between English and Chinese versions of these Terms and Conditions, the English version shall prevail.
  7. The promotion period is from February 17, 2026 to March 31, 2026, both dates inclusive (“Promotion Period”).
  8. Eligible Customer must fulfill the requirements as stated the clause 8(a) to 8(f) during the Promotion Period to enjoy the HKD30 cash reward (“Money Safe Cash Reward”). Each Eligible Customer will be entitled to the Money Safe Cash Reward under the Promotion Period once only.
    1. Applicable to customers who do not have Money Safe setup record as of February 16, 2026; and
    2. Open/ maintain a valid HKD Savings or Checking account with the Bank during the Promotion Period; and
    3. Set up Money Safe successfully for eligible banking account(s) through Mobile Banking/ Online Banking/ Branch; and
    4. Money Safe is applicable to savings accounts, checking accounts and time deposit accounts in HKD and other currencies provided by the Bank; and
    5. The minimum of Money Safe Amount is HKD 10,000 or equivalent; and
    6. Eligible Customer must maintain the Money Safe setup at the time of receiving the Money Safe Cash Reward. Otherwise, the cash reward will be forfeited absolutely and will not be provided to the Eligible Customer.
  9. The first 5,000 Eligible Customers can enjoy the Money Safe Cash Reward. The offer is limited by quota and is available on a first-come-first-served basis while quota lasts.
  10. All Eligible Money Safe setup records are determined according to the Bank’s record. In case of dispute, the decision of the Bank shall be final and conclusive.
  11. The Money Safe Cash Reward will be credited directly to Eligible Customers’ valid settlement account for Packaged Banking or HKD Savings/ Checking account (excluding “Step Up Savings Account”) with the latest account opening date maintained with the Bank according to the time schedule below. The Eligible Customer must be the primary account holder and such account must be valid at the time of crediting the cash reward. Otherwise, the reward will be forfeited and will not be provided to the Eligible Customer by any other means. Below is the reward fulfillment time schedule:
